By reading these pages, by writing to us, or by purchasing one of our titles, you accept the terms set out below. They are brief, and they are written in plain English so that you may read them without an attorney at your elbow.

1. The press and its proprietor

Silver Current Press is a fictitious name of James Mulhern, a sole proprietor based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. References to "the press," "we," "us," and "our" mean James Mulhern doing business as Silver Current Press.

2. Use of this site

You may read these pages and quote briefly from them with attribution. You may not copy substantial portions of the site, scrape it for commercial training of artificial-intelligence models, or republish its contents without prior written permission.

3. Intellectual property

All text, ornamentation, typography choices, photographs, and book cover designs on this site, and all text published by Silver Current Press in book and journal form, are protected by copyright. © Silver Current Press and the named authors, MMXXVI and forward. Reproduction in any medium, by any means, requires written permission, except where the law expressly permits fair use, fair dealing, or similar statutory exceptions.

4. Editorial services

The editorial services described on the Services page (manuscript evaluation, developmental edit, line edit, copyedit, proofread, beta read) are offered under a separate written engagement letter between Silver Current Press and each client. The page descriptions are summaries, not the agreement itself. Quoted prices and turnaround times are estimates, valid until the engagement letter is countersigned.

5. Books and orders

Books sold through this site or its linked retail partners (Bookshop.org, Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble) are governed by the terms of the seller of record at the point of purchase. Refunds, exchanges, and shipping are handled by that seller.

6. User-submitted content (Currents and correspondence)

If you submit a comment, a recommendation, a guest letter, or any other text or image to the press — whether through the contact form, by email, or for the Currents column — you grant Silver Current Press a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, excerpt, and quote that material in the press's editorial work, with attribution where appropriate. You retain ownership of your work. You confirm that the work is your own and does not infringe the rights of any third party.

7. Disclaimer of warranty

This site and the press's editorial services are provided "as is." We do our best to publish accurate information, and to deliver thoughtful, careful editorial work. We make no warranty that the site is free of errors, that links to third-party sites will remain working, or that an editorial service will produce a published, prize-winning, or commercially successful book. The reception of a book is not within any editor's gift.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, Silver Current Press's total liability arising from your use of this site or from any editorial service is limited to the amount actually paid by you to the press in the twelve months preceding the claim. The press is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith correspondence shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

10. Changes

We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted here with its effective date.
